, is back to defend its throne, but now it’s got French backup in the form of the “

” Matra V12. This time it’s all double-digit cylinder power only. No V8’s save Cosworth, no inlines, no V6’s.
The rules stay the same: All the engines you see before you are all you got as choices, and when you pick, you get a pair out of the box . No LS’ or LT’s, no SR20’s or RB26’s or VQ’s, no doritos. But there’s the cooler part: part of the deal is an expert team of mechanics that will help you fix and improve your car in any aspect you wish, like, say, reliability, or smoothness. Also, you’re getting two 40-foot containers of spare parts as part of the choice. All that, for absolutely free.
Very well then. Your engines, from top: !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , and that Alfa Romeo flat-12, whatever that is.

No question about this. My choice is the Matra V12.
Btw. That museum where the picture is from is worth a visit.

Ooh, you’re giving us two this time. 4WD Ferrari-powered Fiat 500 Twini here we come!
Those mechanics better be damn good....

I’m going for the Alfa flat 12 for one simple reason. It looks bat-shit-crazy-pants.

These would be less than ideal in a street car.
I'd like an Ilmor V8 because pushrods.

They’re Ferrari mechs and engies.

They’re for more insane stuff. Ever heard of Gatebil? Yeah, read about it and the cars featured. We’re gonna top those.

Me, too, if I wasn’t so big a tifoso.
But you know, I’m curious about that Honda unit. Since we’re talking about crack team of mechanics anyway, I’ll go tell them to put VTEC on it and test the thing.

You’re getting two, anyway, so amp up the crazy!

Wow shit.

Side question: I can into VTEC or no?

The engine needs to be on display for all to see, so this should go into a mid-engined pickup truck (obviously, right?). For maximum incongruity, I’ll put it in a ‘73-79 squarebody C-10 Chevy pickup. So there’s pleny of room between the axle and the front of the bed, I’ll use long bed. To reduce weight and overall length, maybe bob a bit off of the back of the bed.
I love these crazy thought exercises. This is the kind of bizzaro world stuff I would do if I was stupid rich.

Still like the Ferrari tipo 50(51?) V10 into the F430S more. I would rather put it in a F40/F50/Enzo but those have amazing engines stock.

The Ford DFV will go well in a spectraflame blue GT-40 replica.
The Matra V12 will be in a sleeper vehicle. Say, a Boxtype Lancer? Or, an Isuzu Crosswind?

(I assume you mean the 265E, since Ilmor made a few pretty good V8s with turbos, but only one with pushrods.)
